The Elegance of Simple Garden Decor: The Landscape Fountain
Garden wall features come in many different materials, but they are usually made of stone and metal. You need to know the style you are shooting for in order to decide on the best material. It is best to look for exterior wall fountains which are easy to install, hand-crafted and lightweight. The fountain you choose must be simple to maintain as well. The re-circulating pump and hanging hardware are normally the only parts which need additional care in most installations, although there may be some cases in which the setup is a bit more complicated. Little effort is needed to liven up your garden with these sorts of fountains.
"Primitive" Greek Art: Outdoor Statuary
"Primitive" Greek Art: Outdoor Statuary The Archaic Greeks manufactured the first freestanding statuary, an amazing achievement as most sculptures up until then had been reliefs cut into walls and pillars. Kouros figures, sculptures of adolescent, handsome male or female (kore) Greeks, made up the majority of the sculptures. The kouroi were seen by the Greeks to represent beauty and were sculpted with one foot leading and an uncompromising rigidity to their forward-facing poses; the male statues were always strapping, brawny, and nude.
The One Cleaning Solution to NEVER Use On Your Garden Fountains
The One Cleaning Solution to NEVER Use On Your Garden Fountains
Experts recommend that the typical garden fountain undergoes a thorough cleaning every three-four months. Before you can start cleaning it you should empty out all of the water. Then use a soft rag and mild cleanser to scrub the inside. If there are any small grooves, use a toothbrush to get each and every spot. Do not leave any soap deposits inside of or on the fountain.
It is highly advised taking the pump apart to better clean the inside and eliminate any plankton or calcium. To make it less strenuous, soak it in vinegar for several hours before cleaning. If you want to remove build-up in your fountain, use rain water or mineral water rather than tap water, as these don’t contain any elements that will stick to the inside of the pump.
Lastly, make sure your fountain is always full by checking it every day - this will keep it in tip-top shape. Permitting the water level to get too low can cause damage to the pump - and you certainly do not want that!
