In Rome’s city center, there are countless celebrated fountains. Practically all of them were designed, designed and built by one of the finest sculptors and designers of the 17th century, Gian Lorenzo Bernini. He was also a city architect, in addition to his abilities as a fountain developer, and traces of his life's work are evident throughout the avenues of Rome. A famous Florentine sculptor, Bernini's father mentored his young son, and they ultimately transferred to Rome to totally exhibit their artwork, primarily in the form of public water fountains and water fountains. Archaic Greek Artwork: Outdoor Statuary Archaic Greeks were renowned for creating the first freestanding statuary; up until then, most carvings were formed out of walls and pillars as reliefs. Youthful, ideal male or female (kore) Greeks were the subject matter of most of the statues, or kouros figures. Representing beauty to the Greeks, the kouroi were designed to appear rigid and typically had foot forward; the males were vigorous, sturdy, and nude. Life-sized versions of the kouroi appeared beginning in 650 BC. The Archaic period was an awesome point of transformation for the Greeks as they extended into new forms of government, created unique expressions of art, and gained insights of the people and cultures outside of Greece. Notwithstanding, these clashes did little to hamper the advancement of the Greek civilization.
