The First Modern Wall Fountains

The First Modern Wall Fountains Pope Nicholas V, himself a well educated man, reigned the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 to 1455 during which time he commissioned many translations of old classic Greek texts into Latin.First Modern Wall Fountains 8745611780970050.jpg Beautifying Rome and making it the worthy capital of the Christian world was at the heart of his objectives. In 1453 the Pope instigated the rebuilding of the Aqua Vergine, an ancient Roman aqueduct which had carried fresh drinking water into the city from eight miles away. The ancient Roman tradition of building an imposing commemorative fountain at the location where an aqueduct arrived, also known as a mostra, was restored by Nicholas V. At the behest of the Pope, architect Leon Battista Alberti began the construction of a wall fountain in the spot where we now find the Trevi Fountain. The Trevi Fountain as well as the renowned baroque fountains found in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona were eventually supplied with water from the altered aqueduct he had reconstructed.

Your fountain may draw in birds who think it is a fantastic place to refresh themselves, so it is important to think about where you will place this type of water feature. Install a birdbath if your objective is to draw birds to your property. To prevent this, however, setting up a wall water fountain inside your house is a great option.
