The History of Garden Fountains

The History of Garden Fountains Himself a learned man, Pope Nicholas V headed the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 till 1455 and was responsible for the translation of scores of ancient documents from their original Greek into Latin. He undertook the embellishment of Rome to make it into the model capital of the Christian world. At the bidding of the Pope, the Aqua Vergine, a ruined aqueduct which had carried clean drinking water into Rome from eight miles away, was restored starting in 1453. The ancient Roman custom of building an imposing commemorative fountain at the location where an aqueduct arrived, also known as a mostra, was revived by Nicholas V. The Trevi Fountain now occupies the area formerly filled with a wall fountain crafted by Leon Battista Albert, an architect commissioned by the Pope. The Trevi Fountain as well as the well-known baroque fountains found in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona were eventually supplied with water from the altered aqueduct he had rebuilt.

What Are Landscape Fountains Manufactured From?

What Are Landscape Fountains Manufactured From? While today’s garden fountains are made in a range of materials, most are made from metal. Those made from metals have clean lines and unique sculptural elements, and are versatile enough to fit any budget and decor.Landscape Fountains Manufactured From? 29414023716274694.jpg If you have a modern-day look and feel to your interior design, your yard and garden should reflect that same look.

A popular choice today is copper, and it is used in the crafting of many sculptural garden fountains. Copper is appropriate for many fountain styles, including tabletop and cascade water fountains, and can be placed inside or outside - making it a great option. Another benefit of copper fountains is they are versatile and come in a wide variety of styles.

Brass water fountains are also popular, although they tend to have a more conventional look than copper ones. Though not the most stylish, the creatures and sculptural features you find on fountains are commonly made of brass, thus making them very popular.

Arguably the most cutting-edge of all metals is stainless steel. Adding a modern-looking steel design will immediately add value to your garden and elevate the overall ambiance. Like other water features, they come in a variety of sizes.

For people who want the look of a metal fountain but desire a lighter weight and more affordable option, fiberglass is the answer. The maintenance of fiberglass water fountains is quite simple, so they have many merits that people appreciate.
