Keeping Your Garden Water fountain Clean
Keeping Your Garden Water fountain Clean
Experts advise that the typical garden fountain undergoes a thorough scouring every three-four months. To start with you must empty the water. When you have done this, scrub inside the water reservoir with a gentle detergent. Feel free to use a toothbrush if necessary for any stubborn crevasses. Be sure to carefully rinse the inside of the fountain to make sure all the soap is gone.
It is highly recommended taking the pump apart to better clean the inside and eliminate any plankton or calcium. Soaking it in vinegar for a bit will make it easier to clean. If you want to remove build-up in your fountain, use rain water or mineral water versus tap water, as these don’t contain any ingredients that might stick to the inside of the pump.
And finally, make sure the water level is continuously full in order to keep your fountain running optimally. If the water level slides below the pump’s intake level, it can harm the pump and cause it to burn out - something you don't want to happen!
