In Rome’s city center, there are many famous fountains. One of the best ever sculptors and artists of the 17th century, nearly all of them were designed, conceptualized and built by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. He used his ability and melded it seamlessly with Roman marble, most notably in the Vatican. Though he was influenced by many, Michelangelo had the most profound impact on him, both personally and professionally.
